Attorney Alexandra Scott grew up with a deep conviction that the government should never be allowed to trample on a person's rights. That belief drove her from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to Marquette University Law School — and it drives every case she takes today.

She began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office, where she represented clients facing serious criminal charges — often people who had no one else in their corner. That experience gave her an unmatched understanding of how the system works, and how to fight it effectively.

During law school, Attorney Scott interned at the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights in Washington, D.C., where she saw firsthand what it looks like when institutions fail the people they are supposed to protect. That experience sharpened her instinct to fight back.

Attorney Scott has lived and worked abroad, spending time in France where she taught English to elementary school children. She is fluent in Spanish, French, and Hungarian — which means she can speak with clients directly, without an interpreter, in the language they are most comfortable in.

Attorney Scott is a fierce advocate for communities that are too often treated unjustly by the police and the legal system — including Wisconsin's immigrant population, the LGBTQ community, and minority communities across the state.
